In August 2013, The Age published an article which called into question our links with Samaritan’s Purse – a charity that we worked with over four years ago. Samaritan’s Purse has two arms, a development arm and a mission arm, and in line with our strict projects criteria, we have only ever funded the development arm of Samaritan’s Purse.
In the event that any of our project partners don’t follow our strict project guidelines and misuse funds, Thankyou would no longer fund their projects and they also would automatically lose their DGR position under the Australian Tax Office. While today we no longer fund projects through Samaritan’s Purse, we’re extremely proud of the development work we implemented with them, and the lives that have been changed as a result. You can view our current project partners list here: https://thankyou.co/impact or for more information, read our blog response to the article found at http://thankyou.co/blog/dans-response-to-the-age
