We launched Chapter One, and for the first 4 years after launch, we had an unconventional pricing strategy: it had no RRP. It was what we called, Pay What You Want (PWYW). Chapter One wasn’t, and still isn’t, just a book. It was an invitation to join a movement and invest in an idea that could change the course of history.
You’ll see that Chapter One has changed and is now the owner of an RRP. Why the change? We always saw PWYW as a launchpad which worked for us for 4 years, but it’s not the final destination. In Chapter Two you’ll hear a little more about the shift to RRP. What hasn’t changed? All the profit from Chapter One will still go to funding the future of Thankyou.
